Site-to-Site Extranet VPN

Site-to-Site Extranet VPN is also similar to intranet. But the striking difference is they are designed for external business partners, costumers etc At times along with firewall access restrictions VPN tunnels are also used.

As a result, the business partners are also able to receive secure access to various data, resources etc. But they cannot gain access to private information of the company. The best example can be the companies that have close relationship with each other can build a site-to-site extranet VPN connection. It connects LANs and facilitates various companies to communicate and share resources.

Site-to-Site technologies are primarily used to provide Business-to-Business services for partners and customers. In simple words, an extranet VPN provides customers, trading partners and other business associates access to several business data and denies access to private information of the company. An outside person would only reach the corporate firewall because of the VPN access control services.
