Remote Access VPN

Remote Access VPN refers to an application which involves only a single VPN gateway. PC or laptops is also another party that is involved in negotiating the Remote Access (RAS) VPN secure channel with the VPN gateway. The PC or laptops is usually connected to the internet and running VPN client software.

The VPN Client allows telecommuters and other traveling users to achieve proper communication on the central network and access servers from many different locations. There are several benefits in using remote access VPN. A sizeable amount can be saved by cutting down the long distance charges which are associated with dial-up access. It provides secure network access. So security and peace of mind is ensured along with increased productivity. It connects employees those who are physically spread in diverse locations.

Remote access is also known as Virtual Private Dial-up Network (VPDN). It refers to a user-to- LAN connection. It is functional in organizations that have employees who require connection to the private network from different locations.
